johnny is that your original transmission? I don't see how you broke that since I have more torque than you and I have not shelled my transmission yet. I do feel that mine is geting close to the end of its life.

Blake,that's the Mechanical Diode OWC.
Steven,It's from the '98 GT trans in my car-my original was gone a long time ago,and a reman was installed by Ford under warranty.That reman is now in my daughter's '95 LX.

I know somebody else here in Texas with a car that breaks triple disk PI convertors-and he's N/A too.

C'mon Johnny, 'fess up. You broke it on purpose to give yourself an excuse for building up an all-out bullet proof. Betcha if I offer Dan enough he'll tell me that the parts were already on order BEFORE you broke it.

Maybe I better check with Jim to make sure he doesn't route my trans through Texas "by mistake." .... and the conspiracy continues. :D

Last week was a bad week for trans. I lost OD on this latest trans in the Lincoln. That makes 3 so far. JL takes out his and one of our other buddies smokes his PI to the point of warping the plates and turning the inside of his trans into a collection of grey particals.

I fear my standard OWC, but so far it's been nice to me.

Must be the year of the Tranny!!

I grenaded my converter and took out hard parts as well 2 weeks ago. So for this past week at least its a stock replacement with the rebuilt PI converter and no Jmod/shift kit but it ran at least. Now to find out why the Lock-up won't work.

Hopefully, I'll get some of the issues resolved later this week.

i concur....i had a damaged fitting(dunno how), three of them actually, earlier this week and slipped first gear...luckily I caught it early enough and my local dealership took care of it, 4 days before my summer A final exam.

That truly is something you do not see every day. If you have to break something, at least make it spectacular! :) Put that up on "the mantlepiece" or something to that effect and keep that as a momento.

When my trans went, it was not pretty (no pics though). There was a large amount of stuff stuck on my trans pan magnet and floating around in the fluid.

How many miles do you have on yours now? When I tore my old one down it was the OWC that had let go on mine at 230,000K
