I’ve been busy working on my Mark VIII for the last few months (sadly almost a year!!!)… I took it down right around Christmas time and just haven't had time to work on it. :(

Anyway, what started as a leaking oil filter adapter gasket/sway bar install turned into a massive “while I’m there” exercise… The nightmare started off when I broke off a motor mount bolt in the block! :bawling:

So here’s my list of what I’ve done/replaced so far:

Remote mounted oil filter (not plumbed yet, but mounted)
New lower control arms
New front/rear strut rod bushings with machined ferrules
New ADDCO 1 3/8 front sway bar
New sway bar end links
New air bags (hydraulics in the old ones were shot)
New air bag solenoid seals
New right wheel bearing/hub
New ABS sensor
New rack and pinion with polyurethane mounting bushings
New outer tie rods
Repaired leaking secondary air injection tubing
New motor mounts (driver side bracket welded to the broken bolt “stud” :bawling: )
New oil pan gasket
New oil level sensor gasket
New air conditioner compressor (original one was operational, but leaking oil)
New air conditioner seals (obviously)
New water crossover seals
New water fill plug
Removed 14 years worth of “critter dropping” from under the intake manifold. )
Cleaned IMRC’s and installed new gaskets
Custom Cobra lower intake manifold (modified to use the existing Mark VIII vacuum hookups)
Custom Cobra upper intake manifold (heavily modified to use the existing Mark VIII throttle body, vacuum hookups, EGR, and air intake)
Custom cruise control and throttle cable mounting system
Custom IAC tubing
New fuel injectors in the Mark VIII fuel rails (replaced the EV1’s with EV6’s).
General clean up of the wiring, vacuum lines, etc.

I still have some tweaking here and there to do like charge the A/C, buy new front tires, check for oil leaks, redo the sway bar collars, build the brace for the IAC tube, etc., etc, etc. before I can get it on the road again.

But I fired it up over the weekend and it seemed not run ok. Well at least it idled ok and didn't spew water or oil all over the place :D :znanner:

You forgot the blend door actuator :)

The rear sway bars on those cars are junk, the smallest hollow bar.

Sorry to add more to the long list.

Thats a big list btw.

Blend door was done a few years ago and included the modifications so it won't break again.

And the rear bar is already an ADDCO 1 3/8". :D

Trust me, there is still much more on the "list". :bawling: :D
