Once again it's time for us to be thinking about what to do on New Years day.

For those of us who would rather be out doing something instead of nursing a pounding head, an upset stomach or something even worse ... there is always HANGOVERFEST at Cordova Dragway.

This will be the 6th Annual "Run-What-Ya-Brung" event held at the track just North of the Quad-Cities on Illinois Route 84.

It is always alot of fun and for just $10 per person you can run your car, or you can sit in the stands and watch. The gates opens at 10am and racing starts at 11. SEVERAL members have gone in the past and we have always had fun. There is always a huge varity of cars, truck, bikes, quad-runners and even a snowmodile or two making passes down the 1/4 mile.

The event is a "weather permitting" deal so if the weather says nice andwe dont get a bunch of snow in the next week it should be a GO for New Years Day. The official status of the event will be posted on the tracks website at www.cordovadrag.com and also on the Super Coupe Club of Iowa site at www.sccoia.org

If you are planning to go, please let me know so we can touch base about our travel plans, spots to meet and arrival times.

Unless all Hell breaks loose, I'm going. I'll probably be pushing the 10 to 11 am window. Where you going to set up? Where's the tech line start?

We are going to try to get a spot along the west fence (next to the highway) and as close to the end of the staging lanes as possible. That way we can see the staging area and be able to watch the line of cars filing into it. So far there will be 5 or 6 T-birds and 2-3 GTPs going. We should have alot of fun if the weather holds.

Mike,

What highway do I take off of I-80 to get to the track? I'll be leaving Dubuque probably about 9 am.
I'd cross the river at Clinton (highway 30) and then South on Route 84 to the track. If you go down to I-80 you will be going about 35 miles out of your way.
