JMod Part Number - which one?

Edit:someone merged my two threads into one so it's a little confusing. Scroll down for my current part number question....


OK, I saw the article on installing the JMod, but where's the parts list? I know a guy at the Ford parts counter here in town so I'd like to order the parts locally as he'll give them to me for cost +10%.

Is there a list somewhere of the part #s of what I need? I tried searching but didn't find it yet... I'm also wondering what parts do I need (if any) that aren't Ford OEM. I already have the deep sump pan, and can reuse the gasket. So I need a stock filter, and then some springs...?

Ah nevermind, I did some more searching and found it. Someone should just add the shopping list into it's own article somewhere :)

It's in the tech articles, IIRC... plus there are numerous threads with the part numbers listed.

Right part # for JMod 2-3 Accumulator

OK, so I've spent the last 2-3 hours gathering details and experiences on the JMod installation.

I have one problem right now. I've seen the 2-3 accumulator part number given as F7AZ-7H292-BA. Then later, someone said it's actually F7AZ-7H292-AA. And later someone else said it's F7AZ-7H292-AB.

So what's the actual part number that I want? The original JMod document says F7AZ-7H292-BA so I tend to believe it but it could be a typo.... I want to make sure I get the right part the first time ;-)

This is what I used: F75Z-7F284-BA.

I don't want to go too stiff... What part #s have the other guys been buying up? :)

Just as a point of reference, I didn't use a spring in the 2-3 and it feels about as stiff/snappy as leaving the springs in the 1-2 with the mild drill settings.

I just did mine Friday. In the 1-2 I have the brown lower and purple upper spring, and in the 2-3 I left the spring out. This was the kit I got from RobertP so I dont have part numbers for you. I went with the mild settings and it's nice and firm but not break your neck stiff. Most people here will go with those settings as well.

Any 96VB would benefit fm the improved parts @ http://www.sonnax.com/ available via RobertP , DD or Darin... IMO it's foolish to have that old a VB down for JMOD & not do this.

My MK DD TC difers fm yours so ??... but I went with Brown Upper 1-2 Accumulator Spring & Violet Lower fm DD - Soft 1-2 under 2K RPM - Snappier over 2K RPM & very solid Shift @ WOT - as Grog6 said the P/N are @

Use no 2-3 Springs no matter what you do but there is a fancy aftermarket Delrin 2-3 Accumualtor Piston out there via our Vendors.

I have 3x 02 trannys, at this point; I hope I can make them last forever. (with enough parts, lol) I'll look into the delrin 2-3 for sure.

Do you think the brown upper only is too fast a shift? :D

With Violet Lower it's all I want UNDER 2KRPM & over 3KRPM - BUT ....... & pertinent to OP that's why there AINT no Parts List for JMOD as everyones VB - TC - Diff - Motor is different - That's where experience of Gurus comes in damn handy... unless you just like beating your head against the wall - Which of course we have about a JILLION Posters who seem to just LOVE that ~!
