I love the car now that I got it finished. I am considering geting a after market comp camshaft. I want more air flow up top than I think that the factory cam shafts can provide. I am considering the mild comp cam shaft here are the specs.

intake exhaust [email protected] [email protected] total lift lobe seperation
262 266 226 230 . 550 113 degrees

They recomend using there new springs.

It will be something that I will use later down the line. I will have renagade port and polish my pi heads to bring the air flow numbers up. My goal is to hit 400 rwhp on 6 psi manifold pressure with out compermising driveability or torque.

It's very possible, but not with your set-up. Not at all.

If you make more than 350 RWHP, consider yourself lucky.

I Have not had a chance to get it on the dyno yet. I will wait till I get jerry close by to dyno tune it. I realy want the camshafts but at 800.00 for them with the nessary springs is realy expensive and if I am going to pull the motor and swap camshafts I will also have rengade port the heads at the same time. I think that the limit on the factory pistons and rods is around 400 hp If I can keep the manifold pressure low yet still make the hp and torque that would be best. I realy wish that I had the new kenny bell blower but that is almost 5 grand that I don't have to spend.

Steven..with all of the valve spring breakage issues out there in the last year or so-I'd steer clear of any cam that has more that the stock max lift of .530". I know that Comp has a nice set of springs..but there's just not been ANYBODY that has had them on their car long enough to truely say that the comp springs will not break.
I persoanlly like the Comp #102200 or the #102300 cam with .500" intake and exhaust lift.

I'm putting Compcams 102200's in right now.. should be done tomorrow.

I've got plenty of "before" dyno numbers and track times.

Gonna get some "after" dyno numbers probably tomorrow, and should have some "after" track times by Friday nite. If it stays moderatley humid and cools just a bit (like below 80), I won't be comparing apples to oranges.

Man, I sure hope they work.......

By the way, so far no quality control problems with the Compcams.. I'll know more tomorrow when the second one is installed and I get the all the journal, base circle, collapsed tappet gap and lash adjuster preload values... but so far so good....

I like the the milder midle grade camshaft camshaft for the non pis since the lift is close to the pi lift. What do you think the milder mid range camshaft woudl do for my car.
