I've yet to meet a dealer (or a bank) who used KBB. But thats just my opinion and observations. If nothing else it'll give you two sources instead of one.

KBB also said that my 94 crown vic with 270K miles was worth $1200, but I don't expect that anyone would pay that much for it. It isn't exactly the most reliable source for determining what your car is worth.

I just negotiated a price for a 2000 Nissan Maxima. They had it at 12,900. I checked kbb on dealer's price...that was accurate. But when I told them NADA had it at 10,900 - they dropped the price. I would like Traveler said have 2 sources, and honestly expect a hit on what you think it's worth. I had a very decent 90 Cavalier Z24 - only thing wrong was a oil sending unit leak, and needed a front windshield. Sold it for 500...it's worth a lot more than that.

IMHO - If you can sell it for that price, do it...but if you can't...don't stand too hard on the price...
