 If this was covered before, my apologies. I did a search & didn't find what I needed.
For you guys that swapped a Mark VIII engine into their MN12s what did you do about the knock sensor since the Tbird computer doesn't support it? Just ignore it? I seems that with the last year or so it has started pinging more often especially when the weather gets hot. I have done the Seafoam thing, put in new plug & wires, the O2 sensors are good. I pulled the octane plug & that seemed to help some. I never noticed any pinging issues with my old SOHC engine & that didn't have a KS. What, on the SOHC, controlled the pinging? What can be done with the DOHC engine to control this if the KS isn't hooked up?

Thanks
Jim

A 97 MN12 EEC will support the knock sensors.

At the EEC:

Circuit #310 – Knock sensor #1 – Pin #57
Circuit #311 – Knock sensor #2 – Pin #32
Circuit #359 – Sensor signal return – Pin #91

I've wired mine in, but I haven't turned them on in the tune yet. I don't think they'll work to well with my PD SC.
