Got to show my complete lack of knowledge when it comes to auto trannys...

Since I've got the AOD I can't lock it in second gear...
Reeeaaally funny...

Is there a way to be able to lock it in second gear...
Or even get it to work like a tiptronic?

I've looked at the B&M Mega shifter and Hammer
shifter and they should fit my trans... How they fit other
isn't listed of course..
Anybody got one in their t-bird?

And what does "full ratchet action" mean??

Thanks!

You don't need squat!

After ~30mph, putting the shift level into 1st will lock it in 2nd. However, don't do this all the time or you will wear out your one-way intermediate clutch. be careful when slowing, if you have it in 1st position and go below 29mph, itwill downshift to 1st for you...kinda violent and not good for the tranny.

DO NOT DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is about the worst possible thing you can do to your tranny. The 1-2-1 shuffle has killed a lot of transmissions. Unless you want to rebuild a tranny, don't do it.

I did warn about doing all the time, but if he only does it at the track, he will be fine. I did constantly (like every chance I got!) in my 91, and it took the transmission a year to start to mess up.
