Alright, so the coolant tank on my '92 3.8 leaks out the top, around the lid. My guess it because of all the high speed cornering. Anyways, anyone got any tips to seal off the lid better?

buy a used one from junkyard will be your best bet for leak free unit, and cheaper too.

See, the thing is, it's not leaking from the body of the tank, the coolant is splashing out and seeping around the latch on the lid. It leaves plenty of coolant on the neck of the tank and runs down the side

Mine does the same thing. A new lid won't fix the problem, as even a new lid doesn't make a seal at the top of the reservoir.

The only solution I have is to run a little less coolant, and don't corner the car so hard.

But that just takes all the fun out of it

Would it be practical (or even possible) to convert the system to the newer type that has no radiator cap, and pressurizes the entire system including the reservoir? I realize that is an extreme way to fix a little leak, but its got me curious.

Maybe too simple

Here's what I'd try. Take a few wraps of some kind of tape around the neck of the res to take up space and make the lid fit tight. Possibly combine with a little sillycone to make a better seal with the lid. John
