Hang onto that thing, it'll be worth something 20 years from now. Comp orange alone is rare enough :)
It would be if I'd quit driving it so much. :) It's the nice weather daily driver.

Would love to add a pit to my existing garage, wonder how one might go about doing that?

The foundation:

The frame:

Getting there:

Finishing the outside:

Attic storage:

Fully insulated:

And Finished, ready to fill up...

And filled up:

That garage you built looks awesome!

As far as building a pit, I wouldn't know.
That one was in the floor when we bought the place.
It floods sometimes in the spring, but not for very long.
It sure does come in handy when you need it, but it sucks if you drop a wrench through the engine bay and have to wiggle down between the bumper and the first couple steps.

I have a detached 3.5 car garage that is un-insulated. I just had an electrician put in a 240 breaker and wire up a receptacle outlet for a 5000 watt heater. Does pretty good, warms things up about 20 degrees warmer then outside. This summer I'm going to have the whole thing insulated with drywall put up along with a attic ladder for storage. That will help a lot more for next winter. I'm still not sure what to do with the floor. I'd leaning towards epoxy coating or something similar.

Great minds...

What do you want to build?

Regretably I don't think I can coat my garage floor with anything, they neglected to lay plastic b/4 pouring... 8^{(

Nice Josh! You have a really nice house AND garage. I'm glad I had a chance to stop by and check the place out.

Definitely go with the epoxy coating or polished concrete. Whatever you go with make sure it will give you some traction when wet. Slick and shiney is pretty but it sucks to drive on.

Do you think you'll have that car back together by July or November? If you can't make Summer Blast in July then plan on the Carolina Thunder meet after Thanksgiving.

Weird, looks like the same one I have, but with a different name. What store did you buy from?

Thanks Ron! For sure I'll have to shop around this summer for a quote on the floor with traction, thanks for the heads up. I'm hoping for the spring, but only time will tell. I'd love to make a trip to the east coast, but that will be up to the family whether I can go or not. I'll let you know.

Great.

Carlisle is closer to you than NC but the time frame is shorter with the Ford Nationals being held in early June vs. the Carolina meet in late November.

May be Summer Blast in late July will work better for you. Keep one or all three on the calander and make plans accordingly! ;)

This is what I have to look forward to once we move back to SC. Unfortunately priorities will go to the home first as far as money goes, so I may not get to do much initially, but I hope to at least put down the epoxy floor, then we will see what the future holds :D.
-Kevin M P.S. The cars in the driveway are not mine. They belong to my realtor and my Dad.

I'm so jealous of all these impressively spacious garages. Here's a few pictures of mine with my Bird shoe-horned into it:

There are literally inches to spare either side of the mirrors when it goes through the door, and about 2 inches gap before its gonna hit my chest at the top of the garage. I have to get out and push it in for the last couple of feet.

At least its out of the weather Andy, That's a good thing ;)
Yes, that's my thinking too. It does feel nice to know that when its pouring with rain outside, that the cars tucked up safe in the garage. Weird, I know!

Going to overhaul my 3.5 garage this spring and I've been planing out how it's going to look. Mostly electrical, insulation and drywall with lots of storage is where most of the money is going to be spent. I'm begging the wife for a MaxJack though, wish me luck, lol.

Here are a few drawings.

Rolling on 20's this year!

Hmm you must have missed it...gosh!

I'm going to wire up for a compressor and welder down the road, but it's not in the budget right now. Toys for the future.
