I'm building a 67 Ford Cobra Replica. I found a Lincoln Mark 7 in my local junk yard with a 5.0 H.O. engine in it. Three questions, 1st, can't I take off all the electonic crap from this engine, install a 4 barrel intake manifold and a 4 barrel carb, with a different ignition and run the engine that way? Second, Can I run a 1990 AOD transmission without a computer, (this is an AOD and not an AODE) and third, wont this motor from the Lincoln match up to my 1990 AOD tranny? Thanks

Only thing to watch out for is the gear on the distributor you use. If you run an OEM Duraspark ignition with the carb, you need to use the distributor from an 85 Mustang HO 4-bbl ... that was the only application that had a carb with a roller cam. You need to have a steel driven gear.

cheers
