Well, I have 245/40/18 General Exclaim UHP's on the front of the car....they're great, and I would get a set for the rear, but, unfortunately, General decided to discontinue the Exclaim UHP, which is a shame.

The NITTO drag radials that I threw on back in September, are now in dire need of replacement, as I have registration renewal / state inspection next month, so the cock is ticking...

When I bought the car, it had 275's on it...they had stretched sidewalls, which looked funky...

So I am thinking AT LEAST a 285 tire is the way to go...

I really like the look of the BFGoodrich g-Force T/A .... This car has had mismatched front/rear tires as long as I have owned it, so why change tradition now? :D

Basically I guess I am asking, what are your opinions on 18x10 tires "no more than a 40% profile"

I'm running a 275/40/18 on a 10" wheel and the tires are pretty much even with the edge of the wheel. I'll be replacing mine sometime this year since they're getting pretty worn. I'm planning to see just how wide I can go. I know a few people here have success with a 295, but I'd love to do a 305 or 315 just for the meaty look.

They both fit and look amazing.

For an 18x10" rim I'd go with a 285 minimum and, like Jeff, I would prefer a 305 or 315.

Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna go with the Above mentioned BFG's in a 295....as for wider, currently I Have a 305 on my 18x10....I say go for it if you can find 'em :thumbsup:

When I bought the car it had 275 dunlop dirriza's on the rear...they where stretched and looked horrible...so they must run a bit narrow.

As for 295+ and clearance issues....I currently have 305/40 NITTO drag radials are there are NO clearance issues...of course, I am running stock SC springs on the car, so that helps, obviously.

Slammed there was no way I could run anything that large/wide.

When the car was slammed a 275 would rub on the inner body above the shock mount when the suspension compressed over bumps. 285's that I had before the drag radials, of course, rubbed even more

I was speaking specifically about Dunlop Dirrizza 275's...they MUST run narrower than other 275 tires, since they where very clearly stretched when I bought the car.


General Exclaim UHP on the other hand, are a completely different animal, and I like them...I have them on the front, and, while they unfortunately have been discontinued, my boss tracked down a set for me...I can't remember if I am getting a 285 or a 295....but they should be here Tuesday...And your silver car is very nice....actually, you are the reason I went with General UHP's and I have been very impressed with them.

I see now what you are saying. I have also seen pictures with the 275/40-18 Cooper Zeon tires on the 10 inch bullits that looks fine like the UHPs.

Ha...that's not stretched...there's VW kids around here running 205's on 9.5" wheels. Idiots.

I'll throw some up later. They do it so they can go lower without having fender problems...regardless of the safety issue. One of them told me that it's fine because "pro drifters do it".
