Hey all:

It's getting to be tranny rebuild time again, and I'm looking at getting a new TC with a little more performance.

By the time the tranny goes in, I will have the following in or waiting to go in the car:
94 Cobra Intake
3.73 rears
2.25 duals with hi flow cats and flowmaster or magnaflows

The trans will have a shift kit and tranny cooler.

I'm looking for a good TC that will be very streetable.

Thanks in advance!

The Mark and Marauder TC's will most likely not fit into an AOD.

Are there any ideas for an AOD? I am thinking around a 2000 stall, but I am not sure. I would like the car to have some pickup, but still be streetable, and not kill my mileage on the highway.

One of my buddies at McCarville Ford recommended a B&M TC, but I am looking for advice from those who have upgraded their own wheeled bricks.

You just about cannot go wrong with a Precision Industries convertor.
I'd recommend a 3000 rpm stall speed or slightly higher, but keep the lockup on the AOD convertor.Since the tc is locked mechanically in 3rd and OD,you're not gonna lose mileage on the highway-but it will be a bit mushy around town.

Expect to pay anywhere near $500 to $900 for a TC from them.. I personally would go with Precision myself, costs more.. but built for performance. My second choice would be a Marauder TC.. Marauder ROX! :headbang:

Good luck!

That looks like it'll be the one. Now I just need to scrap together the cash to get it all done.

I personally would go with a 3000 stall just because my car doesn't wake up till about 3000-3200 RPM. You want your stall to be just below your max torque power. Say for ex. your max torque is around 2800 so you would want a TC for about 2600 so on and so forth... Wow, a 3000 stall converter, Cobra intake, 3.73 gears, you will really lift up at red lights when those ricers look at your car like its your grandmothers! At least thats my case cause of the half top vinyl and luggage rack.
