How exactly does the mark viii suspension system work? Can it be modified to raise and lower the bird quickly? What all would i need to complete a suspension swap into a '93 3.8? Would this swap-out be involving any major fabrication to the chassis or frame of my Bird? And lastly, how would the ride quality be w/ mark viii bags in my '93 T-Bird?

I am going to bet that you would be better off with an aftermarket air ride system. these guys should be able to help you out:

Heck, I think that it isn't uncommon for Mark VIII guys to use aftermakret stuff when the stock stuff dies rather than using stock replacements.

not to revive an old thread or anything, but I have some mark VIII rear arms. I am considering using mark bags/sensors on my t-bird rear and using a lincoln town car air ride module to run the air suspension(since it's only rear wheel). I think I could do this pretty cheap with new bags and a used module. I have some town car solenoids, but I dont know if they fit the mark bags. What do you guys think?

Well... seeing as bags for the mark are like 400 dollars there's nothing cheap about it... What exactly are you wanting to achieve with this? Most people just put bags in their rear springs to help get rid of wheel hop issues.

There's been some fast bagged mark VIIIs using modified stock airbags and the usual external stuff like compressor, tank, solenoids, etc... so I don't see why it wouldn't work. You need to modify the bags for bigger plumbing and solenoids. You would definitely need the Mark VIII lower control arms, but I'm not sure what you need for the top, if anything.

I am curious if the car will ride any better with rear air suspension, plus it would be cool for it to squat in the rear when parked if I let out all the air. The ride height will also auto-adjust as more people get in/out of the car. Also, seems like I never had any wheel hop in my 97 LSC, I dont know if it thats because of the air suspension or not. I am only going to do this if I can do it cheap. Thanks for the replies, any more inputs?
