The interior of my `bird is tan, not my favorite color. I want to switch to a gray or black (whatever is available, OR possibly the blue Mark VIII interior. Saw it in one once, and I kinda like that look. Has anyone ever changed out to the Lincoln interior? Does everything fit and bolt up correctly, or is it more of a PITA than I want to tackle?

Do you just mean seats or the whole dash etc? Dash and door panels will require modification.....read welding in new inner door skins but seats are a direct replacement

I was hoping to be able to swap everything out. Looks like I' m gonna have to settle for stock, and repaint any good, and replace anything that' s bad.

Liz's Tbird was sold a while back.

The Mark interior swap requires updating the mounting brackets for the dash to the 94+ style, and re-wiring. The door skins or panels need to be modified and the latch must be reworked. The rear quarter's will need more work as well. The only direct bolt in parts are the seats.

The Mark swap sure does sound like a challenge if you're up for it, but why not go with the 94-97 interior swap instead? It would almost be a bolt on, I'm sure there is some fabbing to be done, but a lot easier then the Mark. Racecougar has done the 94-97 swap.

I think Rod has a write up for the 94-97 Interior in an 89-93. There is still some fabrication work, and wiring.
Still need to update the dash mounting brackets, and re-wire for the dash.
Seat belt bolt holes need to be made in the B pillar if not using the Auto belts.
Other than that, its all bolt in.
Either swap is possible, with a little fabrication and depending on the availability of parts and $$ .. there are a few 89-93 Birds out there with both the Mark and late model interiors.
I have a 1995 interior in my 1991 Tbird, but I had a whole donor car to work with.

Plus you'd have a easier time finding a gray 94-97 interior then a mark gray or black...less money too

Did the T-bird ever have black interior?

my 93 had all black interior. I guess it was only from 89-93 that had all black.

Give that man a cigar. After 93, the only colors available in the MN-12's were gray, tan, red, green, and blue.
I still don't understand why Ford would put blue, green, or red interior in a car.

The red seats were about 20 years too late IMO.

Thanks for all the tips guys. It sounds like if I swap interiors, it will only be to the 94-97 interior. I' m just looking to fix the Bird up a bit, and make a nice looking daily driver out of it. If nothing else, it wouldn' t be **** to respray all the vinyl that' s still in good shape, and then replace all the seats, carpets, etc. I would like to modify this car somewhat, and atleast make it a decent autocross car. I dunno...I wanna fix it up, but I also have some other idea of vehicles I' d like to build. The only difference, is I have the T-bird. I guess we' ll see.

If you have plenty of time, then black vinyl is a good idea.

Oxman, thanks for the handbrake props! :D
