Will a 95 Mark VIII IRS fit work on a 97 tbird? Assuming we are replacing the bags with springs. Shouldn't be an exact swap?

Yes, but you have to get some spring perches if you don't use the airbags.

Yes, but be advised that ALL Mark VIII's have open differentials.

IMHO, there really isn't enough difference between the two to really justify a swap. To my knowledge the only major differences are the lower control arms are lighter on the Mark VIII and the Mark VIII's differential housing is lighter, but doesn't come with posi.

But I guess it depends on the intended application, and just my .02. :thumbsup:

Interesting, I never knew that first tidbit.
If you want the advantage of lighter parts it will be much easier to just swap the control arms and the pumpkin. (After you install Trac-Lok and steeper gears, of course!:diablo:)

Yeah, the only gear ratios available were 3.07 open or 3.27 open.... :zpuke:
