I'm trying to replace the upper control arm on the driver's side of a 97 Mark Viii. I've done this before with a 96 cougar with no problem. The mark's air suspension seems to be in the way.

-I can get the nut off the front bolt, but I cant back the bolt out without it running into the air suspension (solenoid I think) shock.

Do I actually have to remove the shock on the mark viii in order to replace the upper control arm?
