i own a 95 lx 4.6 172k miles.....recently when i turn right and right only,my red light "check gauges" light comes on and when i straighten the wheel back out it goes out.....any ideas? also if i replace my tranny fluid with mercon v will that cure my "railroad tracks" sound which the tranny makes once in awhile? thanks and have a gr8 and safe new year!:)

Have you checked your oil level. It sounds like your pump is sucking air and the pressure is bottoming out. Yes in most cases replacing your trans fluid will cure the shudder

i do notice im losing oil but i dont see any burning......if im losing oil through the valve stem seals....is that a head pull? <ugh...> also, is it worth spending some $ on the 4.6 or buying a 91+ explorer motor or putting in a 351w??

is it a job?

that i can do myself?.....i cant believe im losing that much oil! im not dripping it...i dont see it coming out of the exhaust.......

Check your oil it will surprise you how much you can burn through the valve seals without knowing it. If you have the right tools yes you could replace tyhem yourself but I would just drive it and check your oil more often
