Any info on the bosch filters or mobil 1 filters?
Yes, Rush, I do enjoy tearing them apart and getting all the information behind them.Man, you are an oil filter dissecting machine!
Those Wix filters just keep looking better, and better.
I've seen that before, lol.
That's what happens if you don't wash the metal after the lube for the stamping press is applied. (If you don't lube the metal, it tears.)
It acts just like mold release, lol.
Usually you run it thru a bath that cleans and etches a bit into the metal...
Someone should be fired for that; but it probably saved them 0.00001 cent apiece.
RP , Amsoil is two of the best at filtration , K&N made or still does the SS OF.Royal purple filters? Amsoil reusable? Any input? I've been leaning towards the Amsoil reusable filters but haven't heard much about it.
Its very possible , One reason that they are higher than the average is because of the extra filtration that one can feel safe at using for long OCI .Amsoil makes a reusable oil filter? Not sure how I feel about that. lol
Now, supposedly, you can go up to 25,000 miles on an Amsoil oil filter. At least that's what it says on the box of one I have sitting in my garage. Is there any truth to this or is it marketing hype and ill-advised?
Should the filter element ever become so clogged with contaminates that oil cannot pass through, the bypass valve allows oil to bypass the filter element and go straight into the engine.Chris Murder said:What about this whole filter bypass deal?
