Okay, I'll have to look into that. You have DIS so you can get the ignition boxes, but I have a distributor.

I am FOR SURE going to Marshalltown so I hope to see ya there. Go to www.sccoia.org and then "upcoming events" for directions to get there and there's also a map of the area.

if you have a distributor you can buy a ford tfi adapter you plug into the coil then plug into the box is a really easy install. go to msd's site the directions are posted there, i would go with at least a msd 6a box

So how about an MSD TFI coil with a 6AL box? I know I don't need a rev limiter but it just sounds cool hehe. Plus it has rubber shock mounts.

I remember seeing an MSD box in Bill Stroniaks engine bay in the car gallery.

I've heard something about MSD products spontaneously catching on fire and crapping out. Is that only common with the v8 DIS stuff?

Justin,

Mike usually leads a "procession" from CR to Marshalltown on US 30. Unless I get a new 2nd job, I'm going. I could hook up with you if you want. I've been to the meeting place and the food it really good.

Justin, working tomorrow? I have to check with Mike, but I have to get some parts at Junge saturday the 8th. We could meet. I'll check this board often tonight.

Justin,

Don't think I'm coming. Junge won't have my Belt Tensioner pully til monday, and my alternator won't be ready until Monday. Unless something worth the trip pops, I'll wait til next weekend.

What benifits would something form MSD provide from our cars? I thought since as long as you didn't have anything radical like Superchargers or high compression you were wasting your time and money?

I ditto the vortech plans. It's all about the prepping :D I've opened my exhaust a bit more than my NA 3.8 needs and ported the intakes and a few other things. Also have an 80mm LMAF waiting for the vortech.

Justin,

See you next week. The way I'm seeing my schedule, I've got to pop over early at Mike's before the meet to get my parts. If I have time, and the weather out side isn't too bad, I'll throw them on before going to Marshalltown.

Thomas,

Why don't you put that LMAF on now?? If you opened up your intakes, why not fill the hole?

Jemplayer,

My philosophy is that when a part wears out, breaks, or I have spare cash, I go for the best upgrade I can get. I've got a friend that swears by MSD. He's got a 4.6 though.

Another point, many people say that there is no use modding a V6 because you'll never equal a V8. Maybe yes, maybe no, but the fun is in trying.

Right now, there are people who don't know if I have a 6 or an 8 in my Bird. That means I'm gaining on achieving my goals. Just wish I'd win the raffle so I can get the handling package NOW!

As long as your not blown Id stay away from the 80MM Lmaf you really dont need it my stock 70MM will do just dandy for me right now for sure and much more to come but when I go with the vortech Ill prolly switch too.

Yeah PCD just let me know when your gonna be at mikes and ill stop by as long as its ok with him to many people underestimate the v6 like alot of the v8 guys here say buh bye if your messin with me plus the uniqueness of modded v6 bird is crazy that why many people dont have imagination to make things themselves like if you cant find it at autozone it cant be done lol I think the v6 benefits more from a supercharger unless its a 5.0 a guy I know with a 4.6 supercharged was only runnin like 14.7 and he had more stuff done besides that low mileage motor and all where as a stock manual tbird sc will run that maybe even lower well Ill talk to you guys later Justin

Yeah I'm saving the LMAF for the supercharger. Along with my 30# injectors. I just don't need them right now. And I don't want to pay for a chip to run them if I'm just going to need a reburn when I supercharge.
