I dont need to get ahold of anyone, I already know what SHM has to say. I was just looking to see if someone here has run any ghetto nitrous rigs. ( No Instruction sheets included- BIg Guy.)

IF you are running a zex kit then you dont need anything else,if you have some off the wall setup that is pieced together then you will need a wide open throttle switch

go for a zex dry kit,it has the wide open throttle switch built in so there is no accidental spray at less than full throttle

lots of peoplel ike the zex kit. but with it come some false securities. then again i was paid at the shop to be extremely careful as to how we set up our clients cars. the zex kit is good because it comes with the safety net box to prevent alot of the bad things you hear about with nitrous. but most of the time bad things involving nitrous are because people who haven't researched it toss iton for the quick power boost and something goes boom.

any kit id suggest a window switch and a step colder plug and dont go nuts with the timing. the kits suggest every 50 shot to retard timing by 2 degrees but thats not really necessary. as long as you dont bump up stock timing, use a step colder plug, and use high octane fuel you shouldn't have any issues.

make sure your car is in good running order, no oil leaks, no burning oil etc etc.

get it, have fun. you'll never regret having n2o. once you get it, one time try running with race gas too. though its up to around 8 bucks a gallon its real fun, nice power boost off the giggle gas, and nitrous eats that stuff up too.

best of luck and have fun. be safe.

One of our racing buddies is still tuning the T-bird but I think it is ready for the track. It was fast before but he upped the nitrous and I will let all know after he gets it to the track.

very clean what were its old times?
I can't remember the times but will try to find out Saturday. We are going to the dragstrip but this car won't run because he is not taking it. He decided to go fishing. He may change his mind since we had a lot of rain. As soon as I find out I will keep you posted.

The best time before in the eight was 6.9/60ft was 1.54. He is trying to beat my son's Nova with a procharger on it. They all work on each others cars to compete with each other. All in fun. We took the Nova to Darlington Saturday and did pretty good. He has too much power for the tires and will have to go wider to get it to hook. This was the best time with the Nova just easing into it off the lights. He tried the trans brake and all four tires cleared the ground. Looked weird to see a launch with the whole car off the ground.

I got a question.

How does the auto trans hold up to the extra power from the nitrous? Before I got my T bird, I was running Mustangs with a 5 speed trans and the stock trans sux. You can trash one with a stock engine much less using a power adder.

Since the price of a Ford Racing T5 costs $1300 with shipping to Hawaii, I decided I can get a used car and not have to work on it. I found my T bird and love it a lot better then driving my old Fox body car ( I did put a 75 shot of nos in my Mustang before I blew my first transmission). That's why I am asking.
