ive been having starting trouble for a little over a year now with my 95 cougar XR7, it turns over...and over and over....had it in a shop not too long ago and they never noticed a thing...when the weather is cooler it is more likely not to start, im thinking that it may be the fuel pump but it spits when i check it...maybe cleaning the MAF? ill try that this afternoon...but for the longest time it would start right up with the use of ether now that doesnt even seem to help....

When it does start, does it idle fine or is it rought at first or do you have to give it gas until it warms up a bit?? Had the same problem awhile back, was really bad in cold weather, turned out to be the IAC.

Does having your foot on the pedal help it any? If so, probably IAC valve.
