Picked her up last week, finally getting around to posting some pics I have (I know not the greatest quality of pictures,) This car is NICE!!! It even smells new! Picked up the temporary motor and trans and plan on dropping it in within the next month or so, more pictures to come.

That does look nice and clean. Except for the 15" fanblades - it could use some 16" super coupe wheels unless you had other plans for the wheels. ;)

What is wrong with the current engine / trans, and is it manual or auto ??

It was a 5sp, all the 5sp components are long gone, so is the motor, Im jsut going to get it running for now then back track and get all the 5sp parts back in there and make it a v8 sc, as for the rims, I like the look of the LX rims personally, My long term goal is to get some 5 spoke aftermarket rims I like the look they have

Are there no disks up front how did the fan blades mount? You need 16s to clear the sc brakes.

sucks the 5 sp stuff is gone but props to you on the gen2 sc grab. I'm sure the rust belt has taken care of most of the SCs you'd see in IL.

You can rebuild it... Faster... Stronger...

There are ABS disks all the way around, the rims and tires fit on fine I dont see any problems with clearance issues

The 8th digit would be R in the vin

The trailer had hydraulic brakes that were god awful, it was like they wernt gripping that much

I'm going to be looking for tons of parts, thank you all for the warm welcoming!!

No, the power steering pumps are different between the 4.6 and 3.8.

Rather than the 8th digit, what are the 5th, 6th and 7th digits of the VIN?

P60 is V6 N/A, P62 is V8, and P64 is SC.

Whats the deal with SCCOA.com??? I registered like a week ago and I still cant acess ANYTHING, I've seen a few things I would like to buy from their classified section, but I cant even contact those people because my account has been placed on hold, left a couple of e-mails regarding my membership and no response whatsoever, anyone else here a member and have this problem?? I mean I would love to become a paid member but if it takes this long to be a free member I dont want to know how long it would take to bea paid member!! That site dosent look updated at all, I swear it looks like it was abandoned long ago, very sad I must say

You only need 16" wheels to clear the 96/97 sport brakes or the MarkVIII brakes. SC brakes are the same size as the LX.

Sometimes it takes a little time to get registered .. a lot longer to get your membership processed.

What sort of parts are you looking for ?

What brakes are better the mark/sport brakes or the sc brakes? I was just going to upgrade the rotors to slotted and paint the calipers, or should mine be upgraded to sport brakes??

Bout equal. Not worth the work to change. Upgrading to dual PBRs will help. Upgrading to 13" Mustang brakes help more. Then there are the 4 piston Brembos.

I have all these brakes presently. If you are set on Thunderbird pattern wheels, dual piston PBR's. Get them for a 2000 Mustang, non-GT is ok. Loaded you can get them for around 70.00. There are seom thngs you have to do to make them work but it's pretty easy stuff. See the tech articles.

And as for SCCOA. It takes a bit to get registered. It's not much different than this forum and paid membership.
It's a good site too though. Much more SC than over here.

Im trying to go for a SCed 4.6 5sp, I need to find a clutch pedal and mounthing bracket right now, so I can put the dash back in, I have an LX parts car that I'm puling the motor and tranny when I get a chance and dropping it in the SC, so Ill be running around with a dummy clutch pedal until I can muster up the cash to get the right 5sp for the SC(if that mkes sense??), to add to the problems just found out my daliy driver has developed a rod knock and it likes to starts off in 2nd gear

My PBRs are the best upgrade I've done so far to my car. Its a huge improvement over stock.

Are you going to keep the E-brake with a clutch pedal, or try swapping to the center console E-brake ?

When I converted my SC to a 5 speed, I also replaced the brake pedal with the manual version .. my foot kept getting hung up on it.

My buddy usually has parts for the late model SC .. [email protected]

Is the lX parts car a 3.8 with AOD ?
