Well, its my turn for joining the 3.8 blown head gasket club. 91 T-Bird 247,000 miles. I have been in the search forum looking for a post where someone said you need a long torx wrench for one of the intake bolts. I need to go and buy this before I drive the 220 miles to where my car is. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

wow, 247k miles and just now the hg went? lucky you.

the bolts that require a torx wrench are the ones that hold the fuel rail to the lower. i think there are four bolts. im not sure what size torx wrench you will need, but you can probably find one at autozone, maybe even walmart. they may come it sets.

btw, where in houston do you live?

I live in South Houston. It is between Houston and Pasadena. So, from what you are saying, I won't need the torx wrench until after I pull the upper intake. Is that correct?
