We've all heard (and ourselves asked) what effect different mods will have on our cars.
This thread is for 4.6L SOHC 2v N/A rear wheel horsepower & torque numbers starting from stock and working up.

Stock and light mods resulting in 199 rear wheel hp and less (all numbers are rwhp/rwtq underless otherwise specified):
(most have Tune, Dual Exhaust, Cold Air Intake, and Under-Drive Pulleys)

I'll see about starting a thread with a list of all the rwhp/rwtq numbers with accompanying mods.

Obviously, no two dynos/conditions are equal ... but it still will give a good idea of what to expect from what.

BTW, the chart is strictly N/A (sorry Ron :). When I post it, I hope the Mods put it wherever y'all feel it would fit best and I will maintain it based on feedback!

Ah, the N/A limitation would explain the 200 HP range. So Stuckinkaos is off the list.

So TM, why would Stuckinkaos be off the list. He runs N/A on a stock PI shortblock 4.6 and thats what his numbers were N/A? Not on a power adder.

We're not talking 4.6 based 2V stroked to 5.0 motors or 4 valve motors here I don't believe. Actual 4.6 2V's.

Otherwise comparison numbers would mean nothing.

I see where he made the 281/317 dyno pull however, he didn's specify if that was an N/A or nitrous pull and the converter unlocked during the pull so the numbers are invalid since it wasn't a full pull.

The only recent N/A numbers I found for him were the 273 HP and 295 torque numbers from March of last year.

Aside from that, the only other reason I would say he couldn't go on the list is that he's selling the car and moving to Japan. The car and those numbers will soon belong to someone else.

It's a 2v N/A chart.
There are multiple entries for some members here as they modded their vehicles (like Brandon).
The only gripe you might have is that some of the entries are from Mustang boards and "magazine builds".
I realize that the 'Stang builds show higher numbers because of the lower drive line loss with a manual transmission, but you still get the jest of the mods & resulting rwhp increases.

Oh, and I don't have any dyno-specific info (type of dyno, tc locked/unlocked, conditions, etc)... :zdunno:

LOL TM you must of fell off the cart and hit your head ROFL ;-). Why would he be spraying it and it only put down NA numbers. Last year with the Nitrous it put down in the vicinity of 370-380 on the power adder. Dan at Pro Dyno did the NA pulls this spring. The runs were NA up to where the converter unlocked so those numbers are good to that point. Remember, we are looking at NA combo's here.

Regardless of where the car goes, it still has the stated mods and accompanying numbers. If Jeff was to post he had similiar results with it when he had it albeit a slight bit more.

Regardless, its something to compare to for those with similiar mods.

Regardless if it was an N/A or a Nitrous pull it wasn't a full pull due to the aformentioned mechanical issue. You say it was an N/A pull so I guess it was...

Either way, I really don't know or care how the numbers were made or under what conditions. I'm just pointing out the questions I have with the numbers.

You or anyone else can read into or out of those numbers whatever you like.

I'm just a monkey hanging out in a tree. Whatching the N/A cars battle it out for bragging rights....

If Rick want's to add Justin's numbers to his list. I'll be happy to include them ...

No worries. If it's a 2V N/A chart demonstrating what various configurations will yeild then it's up to the person reading the chart to know the unspoken/unlisted differences. It should be apparent to anyone with a lick of sense that a 2V N/A Mustang number will be better for obvious reasons.

I still have stock exhaust system with cat backs. Just a heads up! lol

Also, the 198 hp figure was with the PI intake manifold.

Couple of cars missing from the 300+ club. Kdanner made 301 RWHP with his old SVO headed/intake setup, do not recall the torque though. I am missing from the list, 348 RWHP, 368 Torque. Similar to JL but with a 5.0L Big-Bore and plastic PI intake.

My HP was actually 254 according to my dyno chart in 2004. Also include the Bullitt Intake and TB.

I see several entries on there for me, but I've only had the car dyno'd twice (and never while stock). Once at 212/280 and recently at 255/290. Plus I never had just a tune on the car - when I got the first tune the PI intake and GT MAF/intake went on all at once. :)

You don't have a 4.6L; does KDanner have a 4.6L SOHC N/A? (I didn't include stroker kits that change the displacement of the engine)

Fixed!

Well, you must have said something at some point - I sure didn't pull those numbers out of my you-know-where! I can remove those entries if you wish...

Here is an issue u list all the hp numbers but the type of Dyno plays a big role like my 192 rwhp ran 14.4 and mgino 198 his with 198 ran slower than stock point is the Dyno type should be listed as mine was on a Dyno jet and Michael some other crap that lies, point is this is not a proper comparison, and I did not have duals I had dynomax catback

I said that right at the beginning that this was gonna happen, and you cemented what I said in place - didn't take 8 hours! lol

Robert, relax - ppl get the jest and should know that there are many different dynos (such as with and without Eddy brake), & different air temp, altitudes, torque converters, rear gear, tire sizes, etc, etc.

My particular graph was taken at 50' above sea-level, 70* degrees fahrenheit, on a Mustang Dyno with Eddy and some other drag device built-in to the machine. But how am I supposed to have access to all that info for all those entries? And most people wouldn't care or understand all those other confusing numbers, anyways! :rolleyes:

You're blown anyways, why you criticizing us wimpy N/A guys? lol
Oh, and I fixed the exhaust entry! :thumbsup:
