well I have come to the conclusion that I want to make my car faster but Im not sure what I want to do. Honestly it would be best to work the engine as far as I can NA but Im not really sure how I should go about this. Im trying to finish up college this year and get my degree so this isnt my top priority, but I would like to have a nice winter project. I had the idea of having the PI heads worked with some nice VT cams and a 3000 stall and a bullit intake or similar one. I dont know if pulling my heads off is practical right now thats why I might just do a Allen blower. I was also thinking of a vortec but I think the roots blowers are much better in producing effeciant power along the whole RPM band. I know the vortec is cheaper but I would probley buy a used allen kit anyhow. If anyone knows how to get ahold of JL please let him know that I would like to ask him some questions about running NA so I can get an idea if its practical for me to do. In my situation with school and money Im thinking the Allen kit might be more practical and then work the engine later. but it would be much cooler to see the car do mid 12's all motor.

a problem with SC power is that you can't beat on it like an NA engine. there is alot more heat developed, and our stock pistons don't stand upto detonation very well.

The bullitt intake isn't good enough to spend 4 or 5 times the price of a PI intake.

I'd go with the worked PIs, PI intake, and cams. That should be enough for around 250rwhp. Add gears, convertor, a good tune, and good tires. you'd see low/mid 13s without much trouble. If that isn't enough then go with a small shot of nitrous.

If your set on SC go with a Kenne Bell. It's not much more than the allen kit, and it outperforms the M90 easily.

TC is another option. sure there's more piping, but your don't need a new intake either.

At your stage, if you want a good increase in power for your money, your best bet is a power adder. You can't beat them for power vs. money ratio.

I agree it's really cool to have a 12 second car NA, but unless you know people who know people, it's usually cheaper to reach that goal with a power adder.

yeah, I was just looking on VT engines website and saw a set of ported PI heads for about $2000.00 complete with cams and everthing. The only thing Im worried about is getting a EEC tune. Im kinda into going NA now I wish JL was easier to get ahold of I have tried emailing him and PM him but his PM box is full and his email address isnt the right one.

He's at FFW Ennis right now, where I'm supposed to be, so he'll probably be back home to clear out his PMs tomorrow night.
