This is true, but teams were allowed to use the thunderbird in '98, even in '99 also if i remember correctly.

Sadly, the "World's Fastest Speedway" is no longer NASCAR's fastest speedway.
Who holds that title now?

It depends on your definition of "World's Fastest".

There's the Worlds Fastest High-Banked 1/4 mile oval;

Anderson, Indiana

World's Fastest 1/4 mile oval;

Slinger Superspeedway - Slinger, WI

There's the World's Fastest Dirt Track.

Volunteer Speedway - Bulls Gap, Tennessee

And of course the World's Fastest Speedway;

Bonneville Salt Flats

World's fastest Superspeedway;

Talladega, AL

How about the World's Fastest Half-Mile Circle Track?

Bristol Motor Speedway

The list goes on...

Which track were you referring to?

I must be old. I remember when the Terminator drove a T-bird before he went to the dark side and GM sponsored him.

Ralph, you mean the Intimidator? did I spell that right?

I went to Talladega in October of 2000, saw Dale win his last race.

Cool Joe I was at Daytona when he lost his life, I lived in Nc and not far away at all from RCR Met Dale many times was a very nice and down to earth man. I felt like I lost a true friend :(
