i have a 88 gt and got a new b-303 cam and cant remember if i need rocker shims or not for the stock heads/stock rockers.my brother had a bone stock 87 with only the b-303 cam and it ran strong but he cant remember if he used the shims.do i need them?the reason i dont want heads is that i dont have the money for them right now,so i just want to put the cam in for now and save some money and by next summer ill get a set.here are some pics of the parts and car(lol im not going to spray it till i get heads) http://s95.photobucket.com/albums/l127/lon01_2006/ .shims or no???

You should be fine as long as you use the stock hydraulic lifters. I had a B303 cam in my 91 cougar with a 5.0 and a set of GT40 iron heads, and stock lifters, pushrods, and rocker arms, and it worked fine. The B-cam actually has less lift than the E does, but it has longer duration I believe the specs on the B-cam are .480" valve lift and 230 duration at .050. One problem with the B-cam is that it does seriously lose low rpm torque. I made up for this with a 3000rpm stall converter, but I never got my car running right because I was choking the motor off with the stock intake and exhaust, so it only really made good power for about 2000rpms before dropping off. If you have opened up the intake and exhaust, you should be ok, but if the only mod is the cam, you will probably be disappointed at first. Good luck.

Then you should be fine with the Bcam. Like I said, with GT40s I didn't need any shims for the rockers, so I would assume that the E7s would be the same.
