hey guys i am looking to do a engine swap i have a 94tbird with 4.6 and i found a complete
2001 gt engine with 5k for $2000 and i dont think i am going to do the swap myself caz i dont
have all the tools, and i might have a shop do it but i am not sure if they can do it and they said
they can but i have asked around about them and they r new and i dont know if they can do it
does any one know what extra parts or anything i need to buy for them that they need to make
the intallation like if its a 99 or 00 i heard i need the deepstick caz its on the other side or
something and the 2001 and up its romeow like mine and they dont have spark plug wires so the coil
packs r going to go anything any help if apreciated i am not sure if the car will start when the engine goes
in for people that have done the GT swap what wiring is required for the swap. i dont know if a dealer
can do the swap caz i dont think they can do custom stuff
check my site

two good reads right here...

most of the issues are covered. the biggest is the ECU issue. the car will run but really needs to be tuned for the new engine. off the top of my head all i can think of is that an 8 bolt flexplate is necessary if it doesnt come with the engine, and youll need to adjust the motor mounts.

its late, so if this is incoherent or not useful, sue me

Is the motor you're buying a complete engine? Front accessories and all?

I'm planning on doing the swap this winter. The motor I'm buying is complete w/ everything but the accessories. I was wondering if anyone knew if they would swap over from my 4.6 to the GT?

Just figured I'd sneak that in there.

You'll need to convert to a returnless fuel system, I think you need to cut your motormounts (someone has a pic floating around on that) plus the things J-rob mentioned.

You'll want to install JBA headers before the new engine goes in....you need them to take advantage of the PI heads, and it's much eaiser to do while the motor is out.

that is the longest run-on sentance I've seen.

I don't think you need to convert to the coil on plug ignition system.

hmm 2k for a 01 w/ 5k, i just got a 00 with 9k on it for 1400 and the install will be starting this weekend hopefully. the reason i went with this one is because i dont have to worry about the fuel lines and the wires. its more of a direct swap. less bs with it. btw email me directly and ill send you some info.
