Anyone ever replace their negative battery cable on a T-Bird 4.6 liter V-8? I have a 1997 T-Bird Sport and when I bought the car a couple of months ago the negative battery cable had been cut where it attaches to the battery post and had another clamp spliced onto it that was totally different than the stock one. I was able to get a brand-new negative battery cable at my local Ford dealer, but when I went to change it with the old one, I couldn't figure out how to get at the end that's bolted to the engine block, by the oil filter.

Has anyone on this forum ever done this before? Any suggestions on how to get at the cable where it's bolted to the block? Is it accessible if you remove the oil filter?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Dennis

The only thing that sucks is when the stud starts spinning with the nut & cable. I have had that happen a few times in my day
