I finally made it back to the track after like three years on Sunday.

Took the new 5.3L out for a shake down and wasn't disappointed. The only problem (and it's a good problem to have) is that the engine was overpowering the 255/50/16 MT ET Street tires that I was running. I had to nurse the car off the line to maintain traction. I think with the right tires there might be a 1.55 Sixty foot and an 11.0xx in my future. I'm looking at some other 285/40/18's, 275/45/18's or 275/60/15's. I have some NITTO NT05R tires in a 285/40/18 size that I tried running initially but they're quite old and don't have the grip that they used to.

Well done, a sub 11sec tbird that is still streetable.

That's pretty amazing considering what else can do that: Z06 vette, Mclarens, Porsche Turbos, and Hellcats to name a few.

PS. You need to update your sig, right? Or do you want to keep it at the speed of light?

Thanks so much.

I'll leave my signature at the speed of light - it took me a while to figure out what the speed of light was through a quarter-mile - and it's been in my signature that way for a while. I do need to remove the link to Rob's website thought since he no longer maintains a website.

All my videos, mods and times are in my Garage which is linked in the last line of my signature.

Certainly with some new rubber you with some new ones will certainly put the car down in the 10's. Good luck with it and best of luck with that stroker.

Get those 60's down in the 1.5's and you will have it.

Thanks Steve,

That's the plan but it will have to wait until next year as I'm tapped out for this year.

Thanks Josh. I hope to get into the 10's next year. I'm tapped out for this year and can't afford to buy better tires or make it back to the track this winter.

You need to get some track and/or Dyno numbers on your new build too!
