As many of you probably know, I have a custom CAI made from exhaust pipes and rubber plumbing elbows. I've heard that sharp bends before the maf can upset the correct metering of air so I decided to revise my current setup to flow better and read air more efficiently. Here's a picture. All I did was take off the grommet that held the MAF to the exhaust pipe, chop the elbow in front of it in half, and stick the MAF inbetween the chopped elbow. Here's a before and after picture.

I wasn't expecting much of anything from it but the car actually idles better and has a bit snappier throttle to it now. I should've done it this way in the first place.

Did you have your car tuned with the MAF in the old position? If so I'm wondering if the tuner didn't compensate for that. I know that he did on mine. Although that is a nice way to get rid of that sharp bend right before the MAF.

I've never had it tuned.
