i just bought a 1995 LX and i love it. everyone makes fun of 3.8s but i love my car, its got 54000 original miles and alot of stuff, i just hooked up my system into it, and i am making payments on it. since im making payments on it i was wondering if there are any cheap mods i can do to really boost the hp, i know they have 145 stock :( but they have a ****load of torque, 220 ft lbs is alot. i know this car isnt that fast but i want to make it fast. what cheap mods should i do to get the hp up? can i use mods for v6 mustangs of this gen since its the same 3.8? cuz i found an underdrive pulley thast supposed to add 10 hp or so but its for a 95 v6 stang, but i think it will fit, i would like to know what mods u guys think i should do

thanks alot

i dunno alot about the n/a v6, but i would suggest getting a CAI, underdrive pulleys, and if you can afford it, rear gears, possibly pick up a posi rear, then you'll feel a big difference

also, as a preventitive and performance mod, j-mod your transmission. i dont think you have to woryr about getting a bigger trans cooler since its a 6, but hey it cant hurt

where abouts in michigan are you,

dont let the v-6 get you down, some of the best looking and performing (brakes and handleing) birds are v-6's

just take care of your car and hopefully we could meet you at a meet sometime!

sell it for a v8, ask cougar_guy04 what he really thinks
What I really think? If I had it to do all over again, I would have kept looking for a 4.6 without a moonroof. However, I'm making due with what I've got. 3 years after I got the Coguar, I found a 1997 Cougar, sport, 4.6 with no moonroof for 2 grand less than what I paid for the Cougar I've got now up in northern IL. Oh well, live and learn.

if you dont want to swap in a 4.6, then start searching on what you need to convert your's to a supercharged 3.8. We both know there are a lot of junk yards in Michigan, you should be able to go shopping and purchase all of the parts to throw on a stock supercharger.
Where in MI are you?
