I am getting as CEL. The codes I get are for system too lean (Bank1) and System too lean (bank2). I cleared the codes then the CEL comes on again and
i get the code System too lean (Bank2). What would be causing me to get these codes. I got a tune from Lonnie and I thought that cause the rear O2 sensors were off I would not get this code anymore. I dunno why I am getting these codes. Please help. Thanks.

No But I wouldn't think I should have to seeing as it is not that old. The original one that was on the car went bad. But I guess it wouldn't hurt to clean it and see if that fixes my CEL.

wow it's amazing how fast your MAF can get all gunked up. I really hadn't thought of cleaning it cause of how new it was. I just cleaned it though so we will see if that Fixes my CEL. Thanks.

im pretty sure bank 1 & bank 2 refer to the driver and passenger sides, not related at all to the rear O2s......Rear O2s dont detect rich/lean conditions in the same way the front ones do for the EEC.....only the ones before the cats do that......once the rears are shut off, they're shut off, so it has nothing to do with your tune from lonnie

like casper said, having a clean maf is very important.....also, check your vacuum lines, and intake tube/clamps for vacuum leaks....something could be torn/ripped/broken somewhere letting in enough air that the EEC might not be able to compesate for

Yeah I hook up my $2000.00 OTC scan tool and select clear diagnostic codes. I cleaned the MAF and I am still getting the same codes. The codes are P0171 System too lean (Bank1) and P0174 System too lean (Bank2).

I got the scanner for work a few years ago. just got my xcal2. Probabbly not since I got the 02 Sensors from ford last year. I am stuck. Guess I am just gonna have to live with the CEL.

. . . and assume you are not running lean?? too dangerous for my taste. I'd get that thing on a dyno, or otherwise hooked to something with a proper wideband, and make sure.

One of the hoses comming from my intake that goes behind the motor to a nipple under the left head has a tear in it. If the tear opens up my car won't run. If it is geting air from the engine compartment would that cause it to run lean?

yes that is your problem very common for that on the 94 95 tbird and other 4.6s with that intake go to ford and get a new T fitting ford will have it in stock and if u have a a 2000 dollar scan tool u should be able to read the baro if the bvaro is what out of whack it will cause lean codes also and cleaning it prolly want help that around here the baro should read 150-160 hz unless u are in the mtns or something but if its like really low u need a new one but ill bet the vaccuam leak will fix it

I didn't even think datastream it on the scanner. I guess if I had I woulda found it sooner huh. ohwell I know what it is now. I think I am loosing some oil from that hose aswell. Thanks for the help guys. I don really use my scanner for much. The onlything we really use it for at work is to check the GEM module on the new fords. I ask alot of questions like the one in this thread because we don't work on the way the car runs here. All we do is the electrical system. IE charging starting systems, fuses blowing, Battery runs down over night, domelight staying on for no reason, power wiondos and door locks don't work, lights and things like that.
