So I did a bunch of reading and digging because my car has always seemed to run rich, I unplugged my octane plug to get onto base map timing ??? which If I read correctly can advance spark timing. Did I unplug the right one? I can't even find my spout connector..with it unplugged my car no longer smells like it's running on jet fuel, the car runs absolutely amazing, starts faster too and I swear to God I've never felt it haul ass like this,it's like it picked up at least 20hp..

Am I going about this wrong or band-aiding a more serious issue?
Mods are: cobra cams, cone filter ,exhaust , heavy duty cop, cone filter and superchips tuner ..

Ok, it is the octane plug..
Why am I gaining so much power unplugging it?

Pulling the Octane Plug is supposed to retard timing by 4 degrees. If your car is running better than before, that suggests that your timing was advanced too far, or you were not running fuel with sufficient octane. Neither would seem to be associated with excessive richness, so I'm at a loss. What octane gas are you running?
