I GPS'd exactly 170 miles yesterday. Mostly HWY driving at 70-80mph and probably 15 miles of that 170 was in town. I filled back up after 170 miles and it took 8.3 gallons which =20.5mpg. I personally was pretty happy with that.

136k miles

My commute is 55 miles each way to and from work. Speed limits are 65mph for about 20 miles of it, 55mph for about another 25 miles and 25mph for the rest.

I average between 23mpg and a crazy high of 30mpg (One tank)
Summer average is close to 28mpg, winter is closer to 23mpg (Warm-up time)

Before I started commuting I was only getting about 15 mpg which was primarily in town driving.

Comments: running lean in banks 1 & 2 thinkin if i get that fixed my mpg should go higher

my mileage just took a nose dive. went from 21mpg down to 17mpg. im still doin 65mph on the highway. so no real reason for it to take a nose dive like that, but oh well

Who knows...my stupid odometer is dead. When I first got the car, I was averaging 21mpg around town (with the horrible oxygenated Phoenix gas), with a best tank of 28mpg (on better flagstaff gas - all hwy).

Then the odo died....
Man all you gotta do is swap to a new gear and you can get that trip/odometer working again

I live in Northern Minnesota, and I average 18 in town, 26-30 highway depending on how fast I'm going. I get better mileage on non-oxygenated premium, as it's real gas not partially alcohol. It may cost a little more, but try filling up with good gas and see how it does. A little seafoam to clean out the system and making sure the air and oil filters (along with the oil of course) get changed reguarly are important.

I have seen sbc's last to 250 or 270K miles, but havent yet seen one over 300k myself..

Not saying they dont exist, just havent seen one myself.
I can vouch for one. My brother's 92 pickup had a 350 and was at 338k miles on the original engine when I rebuilt the heads due to oil consumption. It went to near 350k before he sold it. Don't know where it's at now.
