So here's something i'm pondering. We all know you can get wheel hubs redrilled to the proper bolt pattern. Thats not my issue. My issue is that our cars use a +39mm offset and the wheels I want are a +56mm offset. So I've got to figure something out about that extra 17mm.

We all know wheel spacers and adapters aren't exactly good choices for safety. But what about a sort of hybrid of the two? Have a set of billet spacers machined up to take up that 17mm of space, and then have those bolt to the hubs using the stock lugs. However, for the wheels, have a second set of holes drilled in the hubs and the spacers, install the proper (albeit longer) studs in the hubs, have them extend through the spacer and then into the wheel.

Any advice or ideas on how to make up that extra 17mm of clearance?

take a 17mm plate, and weld it to the wheel. then have the holes drilled.

are you sure you need 17mm? that might give you the correct offset, but will it give you the correct backspacing? You only have ~6.4" before they will rub.
