After 40,000 miles i decided to wash my k&n air filter. I let it soak with the cleaner for about 10-12 minutes. When i rinsed it out, the water was filthy and mud colored.

It is now drying for the second day. My question is about the application of the oil spray. Directions say to spray oil into the pleats. OK, that's a no brainer. But do you spray oil on both sides of the filter or what?

Just on the outside is plenty (the side the air hits first). Just make sure you do not over spary the oil. Once it is pinkish on the inside, it is good to go! Doesn't take to much.

Also, clean your MAF in a couple weeks because more than likely it will have caught some of the oil and will then start collecting dirt. Then your car will run like crap.

Maybe even check it out again a few weeks after that!
