Ok, well i placed the order for alot of the equipment this morning.
This is what im doing:

(6) Kicker CVR 12" woofers

(6) Kicker ZX300.1 Monoblock amps

(2) Kicker ZX350.4 4ch amps

(2) Polk MOMO 5 1/4 component sets

(1) Eclipse cd7000 8v preout head unit

Now what is happening is the rear seat is comming out, and from the rear deck down to the floor will be one big rolling fiberglass peice, with the 8 amps **(all the same dimentions)** starting by the rear glass and flowing down with the fiberglass in a line, and then 3 woofers fiberglassed at angles on each side of the vertical row of amps.

The fiberglass where the back seat used to be will connect with the middle console where the arm rest is and then that connects with the dash where the radio and a/c is and all, so it will be one big peice.

the glass will all be painted the same color as the outside of the car.

One problem i forsee is the 4ft sunroof i have... i know it will let alot of pressure out, im not really worried about numbers or anything, im only going to be recreationally competing with it, mostly just entering into shows for fun, nothing serious.

Im thinking about removing the ragtop and putting in a huge sheet of glass that can pop in and out instead. I think that would be pretty cool.

Batteries and a new alt and power wire, are a given. i didnt think i even needed to mention that because obviousally with this equipment its not an option.

Kicker subs are a good mix of pressure to sq.

Kicker subs generally get real loud in a huge ported box, but i will have each woofer in a little over 2 cubes sealed, so it will sound very nice.

Here are a couple VERY CRUDE drawings i did a second ago with a mouse in paint, to give a better idea of what i am talking about, this is extremly rough, but you get the idea.

the curved pic is just a picture from the side.

You should have just made a custom box for 2 12" Adire Brahmas, or the RE XXX..... Would be as loud or louder, and better sound quality! But oh well, hopefully you know someone who could get you a good deal on the stuff...that's quite a bit of money for some sound!

i didnt want to do just a couple 12s in the trunk or anything regular like that...

this is gonna be all out custom, all fiberglassed, TVs, etc.

i ordered the majority of the equipment today, but theres a 4 week delevery because i ordered it through my discount at work... but the fiberglass work alone will take a couple months because i can only work on it on off days, etc..

me and a buddy from work who does great fiberglass work are doing it, and then i will have a local shop paint it once its complete :D

Congrats on your decision to go all out. I think you chose excellent equipment to meet the needs of being loud.

In a Sound Quality event, you are lucky if you even hear my subwoofer..so whether a sub is good for sq or not, is irrelevant. I think the whole thought he seems to have is to have a loud system, that happens to sound pretty good. The Momo's will do you justice, although I would switch it up and get a set of 6.5" components for the front stage, so you can get the most midbass, and then use the 5.25s for the rear stage, or how ever you plan on doing it. In contest, that sunroof will definately be your downfall, if you plan on competing in SPL contests..but for a Soundquality comp, you could probably get away with it with minimal deductions.

Just remember that Install is key to how a system will sound. Your money was well spent, fiberglass alone won't make that car sound good. My advice is to read up on speaker placement, tune in to car stereo based forums on the sound quality threads for help. I won't list any here, but if you want some help with some very good forums, pm me and I will let you know their names. Good luck with your sound system. You are off to a very good start already. Also I am head of Team Wolfpack for the Southern US and Westcoast...so if you are interested in joining a competition team with some great discounts on equipment...please inquire with your pm. Take care.

Can't say much more than what Joe already said above.
Other than "Hope ya have a good amount of patience and like sanding."
LoL
And you should do fine for smaller local recreational spl competitions/shows with the fiberglass setup.
Get to work on it already!!
