got code p0301- cylinder one misfire. got all new wires/plugs. made sure they were nice and snug and everything was good to go. gapped properly and everything. reset eec, start it up, sounds ok. let it run, sound sok. starts running for a while, starts sounding worse, until finally the CEL comes on again. sounds liek crap. def missing. code p0301 again.

im assuming its the coil pack, but ive learned never to assume. if i switch the coil packs, then that should tell me if its the coil pack, right? the other coil pack should power cylinder one fine, id just have a miss in another cylinder if its that.

am I on the right path? anything I should try first? help!

typically yes, the misfire should switch to cylinder 4, unless the EEC is bad itself....i have a pair of stock coil packs that i took off my car....if you wanna be absolutely sure whether its a coil pack, i'll let ya have them cheap
