Latest problem im having is the car will die like someone just turns the key off. I've read a little about this code and am just trying to get some opinions. I've replaced the alternator which supposedly will interfere with the crank sensor causing it to do that when the diodes go bad. Still does it. Going to replace the crank sensor next. Should I get the crank sensor for the Mark motor or the Tbird motor or does it matter? Looks like it has the one from the tbird motor on it now. Thanks.

Could be a bad/intermittent connection at the sensor or a short in the harness as well. IIRC the sensors are the same.

Well i replaced the crankshaft sensor and that seemed to be the problem. Drove it to work today and the alternator stopped charging on the way here. We dont carry the alternator for a 97 Mark 8 but we have it for a 97 Continental which is virtually the same! Is there a difference between the two that I cant put the Conti alternator on and it not function the same? Thanks?
