Ok my buddy has a 98 econoline van with a 5.4l in it. It's getting P1406 code. Can anybody tell me what this is and what the possible causes are?

P1406 DPFE Downstream Hose Off Or Plugged (Ford, Mazda)

P1406 Differential Pressure Feedback Electronic Sensor circuit Downstream Hose
off or plugged (as in plugged up?)...

this is for a 1999, but may be interesting, it is #54...

ok i'm assuming that this sensor is on the differential somewhere? anybody got a diagram that might show me where on the differential?

It's near the EGR valve, not the differential. It's a sensor I've seen that has a lot of problems - my mom's 2002 Taurus required a new one two months ago.
