I have a set of eibach springs I salvaged and am going to put in my new cougar. There's some paint chiping and rust on the springs. I'm going to sand the rust and paint. Can you recommend what kind of paint to use?

The only thing that will hold up will be either powdercoat, or regular automotive paint with a catalyzed clearcoat.

I used the flexible paint you use on the front and rear cowls on a set; it's still holding.

Normal paint will just flake off.

Do you have any more info on what kind of paint that is? What it's called? Where to find it? THanks.

With parts store paint I've found the best approach with springs, depending on severity, is to just clean and touch up rather than full on respray.
That's what I'm planning. I'm just looking for advice on what to touch up with.
