The father-in-law's 97 Sport has reached the point where he's ready to let it go. He's not decided yet on what exactly to do with the car (either donate to charity, scrap it etc.), but I suggested seeing if there was sufficient interest in parts off the car to warrant going that route.

There's a good amount of rust on the car and the passenger door won't open, but the driveline is in good condition and it runs well apart from the body's condition. 3.27 TL rear end, factory premium audio and CD player. Otherwise not much there as far as options.

If anyone would be interested in anything off the car, let me know. Depending on interest he'll probably let me pull and ship parts before we send the car to T-bird heaven.

Edit: I cannot sell ANY parts off the car that prevent me from being able to roll it around my driveway so that it can be loaded onto a trailer to be disposed of when the time comes. This includes most of the suspension components aside from perhaps parts related to sway bars as well as the wheels...

I don't think you'll have a problem parting it out! :)

What color is the interior? Leather? sunroof? Rear spoiler? Rear deck panel have the 3rd brake light delete? I figured I would get the questions out of the way!

How's the dash surround? I might be interested in that.

It's Laser Red, factory spoiler (yes on the no brake light deck). No moonroof, gray cloth interior.

Dash has never been disassembled, so I'm not sure how the mounting points on the surround are.

To the best of my memory all the trimpieces are in good shape as far as finish goes. I was contemplating snagging the dash surround for myself for a while, but I already have a spare. ;)

The CD player works, however it is a little quirky. Apparently the radio works and the CD player works. Depending on temperature however, he said it will sometimes "think" a CD has been inserted and flip to CD while listening to the radio. Probably a dirty/faulty sensor (something I'm sure Grog6 or XR7-4.6 could fix in a jiffy).

Somewhere around 165k; he's the only owner. He's always run synthetic in the engine, and I J-modded the trans at about 120k. I don't have any recent pics of the car and I'm going to be out of town until Sunday, but here's his car next to mine a little over a year ago.

Just for the sake of saying so, his car is sequence number 143 - very likely rolled off the assembly line on the first day of the 97's production. Mine came about 4000 after his. :)

Here are a few pics. He seems to be more interested in first trying to sell the car whole before taking the part-out route. 166k.

Brandon,

Does the dash surround have scratches on it? Not sure if it's the picture!

I'll have another look Joe, it's probably dust or dirt.

As for the large stuff... I don't have a problem pulling it, and if nobody shows interest in the car as a whole I don't think he'll mind my doing so, but I wouldn't have the first idea on how to ship something that big.

Okay guys. Car is officially parked and he's got his new ride.

I'm taking the trans, but everything else is up for grabs...

All black dash surround pieces have been pulled and PMs have been sent regarding the sale of these items...

All LEDs in the passenger side taillight work fine. The driver's side kind of works, but isn't 100% (every 4th LED is out).

I would be interested in the rear bumper cover if the paint was good, But with shipping it might be cheaper just to paint mine ?

The paint is in good shape, but yeah. Shipping something that big across the country would probably be well over a hundred bucks, maybe even two.
