Im planning on pulling some 96 heads soon from a cougar sport sitting in the local junkyard provided they are in decent shape.
Im also going to get my hands on a pretty new PI intake with aluminum crossover.
The sale would include throttle body, new injectors, IAC motor, IAC valve, throttle body adaptor, t-stat, and some pvc plumbing.
What else would I need to do a complete install on a 94??

Whats the best option for the heads???
PI cams??

Sorry for so many question, im so new to this. Havent done much major engine work yet. Just the minor bolt on stuff.
And this will be a slow process since I am strapped for cash lately, but I want to start it at least.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.

look into gettin them pnp'd, not too expensive unless you go with new valve and valve springs and stuff, but it will be work it in the long run becuase of the power gain, just check ino costs as im not sure, but i have heard like 400 to 800 for a pair of heads to get a good port job

I believe you asked about cams... PI cams are your cheapest alternative.
From what ive read maybe if you have the $$$ send to VT Racing and get the stage II with their custom grind cams and valve springs. Or go stage I if you dont want the springs etc. But for about 100 or so bucks PI cams should definitely go in.

Can I install that PI intake without any modifications with these heads??
I did a search and I get the feeling that they wont match up.

I should know this before I buy it I guess.

Thanks for the help.

well with 94 ... you will need fuel rail, lines from a 96-97 tbird and some silicone or the somewhat expensive adapter plates being sold. maybe egr tube too. I know if you :search: you will find exactly what you need to bolt the PI intake on a 94-95. Best thing you have going with the heads is that the PI cams will drop right on if you choose (springs will bind and/or break cam and/or springs with 94-95 heads) or stay with stock cams from the 96, just wont make as much power. might as well do it before engine goes completely back together.

if you can hold out a bit, maybe early next week i will have a parts list compiled for all the parts you will need. basically get EVERYTHING off the top of the motor...vac lines, intake tube, etc. And you will be able to put a PI intake on the heads with some RTV. My pporting cost $850 from a good shop in NW IA. PM me if you want info in the place. I have yet to get some dyno #'s, but I have a feeling they will be pretty decent.
