Here's a few pics of the re-built motor. Let me know what you all think. The T-stat housing and Plenum were powder coated.....everything else has been painted or cleaned. Also.....they're hard to see, but I put bolt caps on every bolt I could. THe vlave covers are the only thing I haven't done anything to yet.....but they might be replaced with a BBK set anyways......we'll see how much $$$ I have then.

Is that a Mark8 pan? What year. And I would paint the valve cover the silver color of the cobra engines. I'm going to paint my intake and valve covers the same silver. Chris

Seriously Steve...Don't waste the money on those BBK valve covers man. They dont make you go any faster. Plus, the painted silver stockers look great!! I hope you have solid lotor mounts on that thing. I got mine and they are GREAT!! Just be sure to trip the tip of the bolt off the passenger side mount ( there is no hole in the frame for the tip of it like there is on the drivers side. Chris

THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!! Well.....it sounds like I did something right then. I just wasn't sure if the Ford Dark Blue on the block, heads, and intake was too much blue or not.
That's why I painted the water pump Ford Red. used as many bolt caps as I could, and painted everything else either aluminum or black. Oh, the powder coat on the plenum and T-stat housing was done in "chromium"........and the TB was glass beaded clean.....then clear coated. If only my engine compartment looked this nice!!!!!!! *LMAO* That's in the works though---in the next couple of years hopefully.

PALMGUY: I'd love to do a custom plenum cover....but not sure how to do it or what would be nice. Do you know of a place that can do them???

CHRIS and FLA BIRD: That IS a '98 MARK VIII oil pan. Had to use it with the '98 MARK VII oil tube for the SVO high volume oil pump. BTW---the MARK VIII pan holds one more quart of oil compared to ours....add a filter relocation kit, that's another quart (thereabouts). The more oil the better! *LOL* ALso, the reason I would like to use the BBK covers......is because not too many others have them yet. However, I am alittle short on $$$ so I might have to just paint my stock covers. I might paint them black (for a fresh look) and blend the Ford Dark Blue along the base of the covers (SPIDEY'S idea). You can see what I mean, kinda, on the side pics.

1BAD-95Cougar: Sure you can have it---for like $9,000 !!! :xpwink:

THANKS AGAIN GUYS!!!!!! It's nice to know all my time, effort, and $$$ in this wasn't for nothing. This is my first project this in depth---wasn't sure if I did it right or not.

Ya see how yer valve cover has those ridges on there?

I suggest keeping the rest of the covers black, and painting those silver. Or, get em chromed. =]

Dang-o, that looks nice! I'd keep the stock valve covers -- they look fine. Spend the money towards something else on your car, hehe.

Hi Steve.

The final product looks great man, glad to see you got it all together. Is this setup to be an n/a motor or are you going supercharger down the road? I never did see the specs on that motor (cams, compression ratio, etc)

By the way, I'll send you my address, and you can just put that sucker in a crate and mail it off.

:)

RobinCali: I got the bolt caps from Auto Zone. Summit has a few more sizes, but they're like $12.99 for a set of 4. Jegs has the Spector caps, in several sizes and colors and aren't too expensive. I just went to Auto Zone because I could get them for $3.99 for a set of 6 and didn't have to wait on them to arrive. Auto ZOne only carries the Spector crhome caps.....but that's what I wanted anyways.
