A co-worker of mine is rebuilding his boat engine and asked if I could find out the preferred piston ring material type for this application. The two choices he mentioned were chromoly or cast.

Which one is more prone to sticking?
Pro's / Con's of each?

It's for a Cheby 350 ci engine and - according to him - the cruising RPM would be 4,200.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

I assume since he's asking its not a hot build so Cast will be the choice for him.
