The past few days I transmission has been slipping when ever I was in 4th and would go to WOT. Also when I would come to a complete stop the trans would slip as it was looking for 1st.

Now for the wired part. If I hit the O/D button the car no longer slips when I'm at a stop. Obviously I don't have the problem of it slipping when I'm at speed because it's not in 4th.

So does it sound like the MLPS, please say yes, or am I in for a much more expensive problem.

cars a 96 3.8

What does it do when you are at a complete stop? When my MLPS went south, i would be driving and the Car would just downshift to 2nd, or shift into N then it would go back into gear.

Every once in a while, my car will seem to jump out of gear when I'm at a dead stop, but if I take off in 2nd, no problem. Does that sound like an MLPS?

My car has been starting to do the same thing. It'll just downshift or shift into neutral when I'm just barely touching the gas. If I get on it then ther is no problem.

my 94 w/3.8 did pretty much the same thing. found metal shavings. but the mlps was also changed.......according to the invoice. see if changing the mlps is a easy task. if it is change it. if it still acts up, at least you'll have a new mlps installed.:D

The Mark 8 TC should be perfect for you. cheap and does the job, Ill say this do not get a Dayco TC I went threw 4 of them before I told my tranny guy that I wouldnt put another in and we went with the Mark 8 after it was rebuilt again under warrenty because the original TC broke apart burning up my tranny.

Ok, here's my two cents..... My 94 LX did the same thing (jumped to neutral at 60 mph). I R&R'd the MLPS, no help. Next, installed a Trans-Go kit and bingo! It's fixed! My point is, I doubt it's an electrical problem.

Good luck.

I think you may have just temporarily covered up one problem, and started another.
