I have remote mounted my oil filter to the location suggested in one the Technical Articles section, under the battery. The filter is currently mounted horizontally and appears to be above the oil level in the crankcase. I am concerned that the oil will partially drain out of the lines leaving a space with no oil. I have considered installing a check valve so as to remedy this perceived problem. Is this a legitimate concern and if so, where should said check valve be placed most effectively? I also plan on remounting the oil filter into a vertical orientation so I don't spill oil all over the place when I change it.
