A periodic flush is the only thing I'm aware of. I'm not sure of the recommended interval, but I wanna say if you do it with your tranny fluid changes (every 30k) you'll be good.

30,000miles is what I recommend all day at work. I use only mercon 5 in my powersteering after having internal rack leaks with synthetic valvoline ps fluid and prestone ps fluid. I have also noticed less noise using the mercon 5 than any other fluid. The only additive I've seen work well in them is tx7. At work I use a machine that has a suction and pump to drain and fill the reservoir but at home I use some hose and turkey bastor with great success.
